University Norms for Admission to B.Ed. Course (2014-15 Sessions)

1. The criterion for selection of deputed candidates is earlier date of joining with continuous service.

2. For fresher and Deputed candidates, minimum eligibility marks shall be 50% for General and 45% for Reserved category in Graduation or Masters Degree level.

3. There shall be Reservation for SC, ST, Physically Handicapped and other candidates as per Government order.

4. The final merit and waiting lists shall be published by the University.

5. Counselling shall be held at university from .............................. for
Deputed (both merit list and waiting list) and .............................. for Freshers
(Both merit and waiting lists). Different specialization subjects shall be divided into two days each so that counselling does not go into late hours.

6. The ratio of the West Bengal State University, Barasat: Other university for admissions shall be decided based on the relevant G. O. in this regard and shall be notified shortly.

Scoring Key will be as:

i) Madhyamik : % of marks X 0.1
ii) Higher Secondary : % of marks X 0.2
iii) Graduation Level (Pass) : % of marks X 0.1 (if Hons. This percentage is not required)
iv) Hons. : % of marks X 0.3
v) Post Graduation Level : % of marks X 0.35
vi) M. Phil. : 3
vii) Ph.D. : 5 (if Ph.D., M.Phil. marks is not required)

College Norms for Admission

1. Forms for admission to B.Ed. course (Session 2014-15) will be obtained from College office from 23th January, 2014 (Tuesday) to 28th February, 2014 (Except Holidays and Saturdays) and date of submission is on and from 17th February, 2014 to 28th February, 2014. No form will be issued or submitted on Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

Time: 11-15 a.m. to 2-00 p.m.
After 2-00 p.m. no candidate will be entertained

2. College will strictly follow the NCTE, University and Government norms.

3. There is no age bar for Deputed candidates.

4. For Fresher candidates age limit is as per Government rules.

5. Forms along with prospectus will be obtained from the College office by the payment of Rs. 350/- only.

N.B. Regarding counselling and other details the candidates are requested to visit West Bengal State University Website (www.wbsu.org Or www.wbsubregistration.org).

Session

Session 2014-2015 will start from 1st July, 2014 from 11-30 a.m. A General Assembly will be conducted by the teachers of the College on that day.

Attendance

If a student fails to attend at least fifty percent (50%) of classes during the first fifteen working days without sufficient causes his/her admission will be cancelled and the vacant seats thus created will be filled up from the counselling waiting list of the University. As per University norm, if a student attends the classes less than 65% then he/she will not be allowed to sit for B.Ed. Semester Examination. If he/she fails to attend the classes for medical reason, he/she must have to apply to the Principal/Teacher-in-Charge along with medical certificate. Attendance is compulsory in different co-curricular programmes. Internal marks will depend upon the participation in different co-curricular activities, observation of days and community outreach programmes.

Dresses

i) Gents: Shirt, T-Shirt and Trouser/Dhuti and Panjabi
ii) Ladies: Saree/Salwar with orna

But during practice of Teaching and Final Teaching both male and female trainee must maintain proper teacher-like dress code (Salwar is not allowed).
